Jamaica Kincaid "Girl" 2
In this illustration I was inspired to create a prequel to this other illustration also based on the short story "Girl" written by the novelist Jamaica Kincaid. Published in June 26, 1978 in The New Yorker.
Before running in the fields, Jamaica dreamt about the sense of freedom that lived in her heart, listening to her mother’s careful instructions, list of dos and don’ts while doing her chores.
The elements and colour palette are directly connected to make this piece coherent with the sequel illustration.
