Macaques
In parts of Thailand, macaques have adapted so well to city life that they now dominate entire streets and neighbourhoods. In places like Lopburi, several thousands of monkeys roam freely across rooftops, temples, and markets, moving through the city in bold, organised troops.
Drawn by easy access to food, they have become increasingly dependent on human environments, leading to more assertive behaviour and noticeable disruption. From high above, they watch over the city, alert, intelligent, and deeply adapted to this new urban world.
